Housing costs impact some residents more than others
Renters, low income, people of color, and frontline workers are disproportionately likely to experience housing cost burden. Renters are almost twice as likely to be housing cost burdened than owner households.

Emergency rental assistance programs vital to households hard-hit by the pandemic
Through September 31, 2021, $13.0M in emergency rental assistance funds were distributed to over 2,500 households across the region.
Dorchester County did not receive a direct allocation of Emergency Rental Assistance funds.
Dorchester County residents are eligible to request assistance through the state.
